KS3

Students in Year 7, 8 & 9 have a broad and balanced curriculum, with depth and relevance, to ensure it reflects our aim to strive for all students to achieve.  Throughout all subjects, the curriculum will promote spiritual, social and cultural development and will prepare them for opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of adult life.

KS4

All students will study English Language and English Literature, Maths and Combined Science. There are also opportunities for students to be entered for 3 Single Science qualifications.  In addition to this, all students will have four option choices, providing the opportunity for all students to achieve the English Baccalaureate.  Alongside the GCSEs and/or equivalent qualifications, all students will be given guidance throughout KS4 on Post 16 pathways.

Intervention/Support

Support is given to those with special educational needs or a disability (SEND) and with English as an additional language (EAL).  This support may be within lessons, small group work, literacy and numeracy support groups as well as one-to-one.

Drop Days

Drop Days occur throughout the year, four days are allocated to Drop Days which cover all aspects of Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural (SMSC) learning.  These are days when the normal school timetable for all year groups is suspended with the following areas being covered:

  • Society
  • Finance 
  • Careers
  • Health and Relationships

During these days, students will also cover cyber safety/e-safety, work experience and applications for colleges, money matters and personal well-being.
